Machined in America. Crafted in Italy.
Two workshops, four thousand miles apart, making one seriously incredible bag. Sure, it would be cheaper to cut corners and build both in one place. We'd rather build it right.
Where this started
It started with connectors that don't fail.
DEADBOLT was built to fix what was wrong with the connectors already on the market. The early work was alongside the military, developing systems where lives depend on reliable performance, and failure isn't an option. It's an unusual place for a saddlebag company to start, but it is the reason our hardware is the way it is.
Then the bikes
We built what we wished we could have for ourselves.
Frankenstein hardware, straps, buckles, brackets that rattle loose at 70 MPH. Stabilizer arms. bag liners. Bags that take an engineering degree to put on and get off again. Everybody knew the status quo but thought they just had to live with it.
We decided there had to be a better way. DEADBOLT was made by Riders for Riders. We have the combined experience of lifelong riders, automotive industry veterans, and a founder who also happens to be an award-winning inventor, too. After years of R&D and tooling up to manufacture, we're happy to finally offer a solution for us all that is designed to hit on all cylinders, respect our time, our Harleys, our FREEDOM, and the love we have for the open road.
Made in the USA
The rails are cut from solid billet.
Every rail is designed and manufactured in the United States. It starts as solid billet aluminium and is machined on HAAS CNC equipment, held to consistent tolerances and finished by hand.
The chrome is a triple-layer process. That is an expensive way to make a bracket. It is also why it does not move.
Made in Italy
The bags are crafted in Italy.
Cut, stitched, and finished in an Italian workshop, in vegetable-tanned leather by artisans.
